Combine your brewing extract and enhancer in the fermenting vessel with water and stir. Sprinkle the yeast on top, to create the base of your brew known as wort, then pop the lid on top.

Position your fermenter somewhere with a steady temperature between 21-27°C and let the yeast do the work - turning sugars into alcohol. A quick hydrometer reading tells you when it’s done.

Once fermentation finishes, transfer your beer into clean, sanitised bottles. Add carbonation drops to each to naturally carbonate your beer in the bottle. Cap tightly.

Place your bottles in a cupboard, at room temperature, to carbonate for 2 weeks. Then chill, pour and enjoy. That first sip of a beer your brewed yourself is truly satisfying!

What do I need to brew my first beer?
The Coopers DIY Beer Kit includes everything — a fermenter, PET bottles, caps, carbonation drops and a Brewing Extract. All the equipment and ingredients are there ready to go. Just add water.
How long does it take to brew a batch?
It takes about 20 mins to mix the ingredients, leave to brew for approximately 7 days, then it's time to bottle which will take about 40 mins. Once it's been in the bottle for 2 weeks, chill them off and enjoy.
How hard is it? Do I need experience?
If you can use a can opener you can brew a beer. You can make your own great tasting beer in 4 simple steps: Mix, Brew, Bottle, Enjoy.
What temperature should I brew at?
Try to keep the brew at the lower end of the 21°C–27°C range. Some ways you can do this include storing the fermenter inside at ambient temperature, placing it in an insulated cabinet, wrapping it in a blanket, purchasing a heat belt or placing the fermenter in a tub or sink of cool water.
How do I know when fermentation is finished?
The hydrometer is a calibrated instrument used to determine the Specific Gravity of the brew. It's important to ensure that the final gravity is stable over two days prior to bottling. Signs fermentation is underway include foaming, cloudiness, and a sample drawn from the tap being fizzy.
